#Mood: Disillusioned

The premise of this song? When you feel like you’ve given your all and the world doesn’t appreciate it or give you a fair shake.  Naturally, you become disillusioned.  This is a brand new song, written just before sharing it with the world, who probably will see it. #Mood #Disillusioned.  No particular genre in mind for this one.

Verse 1:

My potential is endless,
And no, I’m not bragging
But I know I can enrich the world,
If given the chance.
My passion is endless,
Enthusiasm unstoppable
But I just need the right opportunity,
To shine

But every time I come close,
Here’s someone else to shut me down.
Every time I think it’s mine time,
Here comes someone else, to steal the shine
I’ve grown impatient,
Getting tired of this infinite waiting,
I’ll admit, I’m weary,
And my vision’s become blurry

Chorus:

I’ve grown disillusioned,
By the dreams I once had.
Because it seems the world doesn’t care,
About this love that I have.
At this point, I’m sick and tired of this
I’m feeling like, ‘man, screw this’
Pardon my French, I blame it
On my disillusionment

Verse 2:

They say the need my kind,
But my friends, their hypocrites!
Every time I looked to be hired,
They’re closer to firing me before I even arrive.
This grows old year after year,
Maybe it’s time for a change dear.
And they wonder why we don’t stay here,
How can you stay when you’re not wanted?

But every time I come close,
Here’s someone else to shut me down.
Every time I think it’s mine time,
Here comes someone else, to steal the shine
I’ve grown impatient,
Getting tired of this infinite waiting,
I’ll admit, I’m weary,
And my vision’s become blurry

Chorus:

I’ve grown disillusioned,
By the dreams I once had.
Because it seems the world doesn’t care,
About this love that I have.
At this point, I’m sick and tired of this
I’m feeling like, ‘man, screw this’
Pardon my French, I blame it
On my disillusionment
